and we're off!
This post = more photos, less idle chat.
We got to LA without a hitch.. did dinner and had some surprisingly potent tea from tenren's after.
Seemingly innocuous milk tea + 4 supposedly very tired travelers = HOLY INSOMNIA
So what do we do?
WE SCARE THE DAYLIGHTS OUT OF OURSELVES (ok just me) WITH THIS,
then lighten up with this
... And we eventually end up going to bed at 7a.m.

Ridiculously good food at fashion island -
True to tina's request, we went to 'tom's beach'.. By that he means the beach that he spent most of his ditched high school years at.
Then the beach was taken over by ********, and thus marked the end of his reign.
It was beautiful.. BUT OMG FRIGID. Weather in LA that weekend was incredibly cold and nippy. Not the most perfect beach weather, but we had fun frolicking in the ice-cold water & having our hair blown in 43 different directions anyway.
In between, we walked around westwood, contributing to the american economy by way of kid robot and whole foods.
We were just biding time till mike's birthday dinner at soleil, where i think we all simultaneously fell in love with the server who spoke in the most beautiful french accent and had an adorable sprinkling of freckles all over her nose.. Even the way she said "lamb chops".. Aye carumba.

post-dinner philosophizing
Them: "So where should we go now?"
"Mm there's a bar right across the street"
...
"She's not 21."
*shuffles*
So we end up at trusty ol' k-town.

Somewhere after this point, after a bunch of very shaky photos and way too much bokbunjajoo, beer and self-made soju - I literally sit in the corner, rest my head on the table, and fall dead asleep for 20 minutes.
Still 20 minutes too late though. Because they all still had to endure my typical drunken babbling/ everything is omg-so-hilarious stage.
See drinking is so much more fun when you're with people you love and trust. Polar opposite = this weekend.

Watched tom and the lot play basketball before lunch and then and then..
DISNEYLAND!!
we're in disneyland
overpriced $6 turkey legs = a must
(also delicious were the $3 churros)
tom in tina's jacket
a bit of a squeeze, tum?
It was such a blast.
I had so much more fun than I thought I would.
I went there determined as hell not to ride anything scary (ESPECIALLY not splash mountain or anything with a crazy drop)
But my bravery was astounding. (or rather the
I laughed and laughed non-stop through all the 'scary' rides and had such a good time.
Let's see..
I spent the weekend being 2 things:
1) cold
2) full
But it really was a great weekend.. Tom very cleverly coined this weekend "eva's bottomless weekend" (hahaha harold & kumar) -- it sounds really wrong but I literally spent the entire weekend clothed in their oversized jackets, trying to brave the crazy LA frosty wind. Best bottomless weekend yet.
4 of us were completely knocked out in the car back home though (thanks andy), and we only woke up when we were on the cusp of entering vegas. 6a.m. or not.. It's always good to be home.
