welcome to the mainland

ok i doubt anyone else entertains themselves as endlessly as i do via youtube

but do any of you know ryan higa?

of nigahiga fame?
of (among others) the abundance of how-to videos that have catapulted these 2 adorably hilarious hilo boys to penultimate youtube most-subscribed-comedian type of superstardom?

WELL..
Higa's interest in science has led him to pursue nuclear medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he will be a freshman this fall.

So it ain't no harvard natalie portman sighting nor the olsen twins at nyu circa 2004
but i'm officially keeping my eyes peeled!!

move on

Death is part of the natural cycle of life for human beings, plants and animals. In Tarot, the death card symbolizes the end of a phase or cycle and heralds new beginnings. This is often the case in dreams.

If you dream of the loss of someone close, analyze whether your relationship is in need of rescue or renewal. You may have hidden fears about losing them, or they may be drawing away from you. If you are already aware of problems, you may need to reflect upon whether you want to revive it or move on.

Dreams of death may be preparing you for an inevitable end. In these dreams, death is symbolic and it is unlikely that death will actually occur. The individual who passed on in your dream may symbolize an aspect of yourself that needs to be dealt with.

7/9/08: jewems at play

Finally the part 1b of this - I am such a lazy prat.

---

aw sam & dith

We trooped in with our tummies stuffed with pricey chinese food and our livers ready to take some heat. Ok i exaggerate - maybe only Sam's was ready. The rest of us were wusses and only stuck with weak sauce drinks like martinis and beers.

FOR LIFE ♥

marnkieboo
befferybeffers

We braved the anniversary crowds by pretty much sitting rooted at velvet, drinks in hand and cameras a-flashin'. Ventured deeper a little later on and although we pretty much almost passed out from the lack of oxygen:

- this song really helped

us 3 = 9 years and counting

kissy faces and
ginormous eyeballs

Sam, marnkie and I also spent like an hour with our shoes kicked off, sitting (on marns. my white skirt temporarily being rescued by her lap until i decided oh what the hell.) on the carpark parapet. We were pretty much watching people traipse by/ feeling ancient.

Annnd really enjoying the 1.a.m breeze whilst saying geriatric type stuff like "i'm so happy my girlfriends like to sit outside and nothing too".. Oh indeedy doo

on marn's lap

mambz jambz

Supper was in order to properly conclude the night, of course. What's 4.a.m without canned barley and iced milo? And a BFF sleepover? ♥ ♥ ♥

Maybe life in vegas isn't so different after all-

I'm home after a dinner out (rice and braised pork),
bumped into 7 other familiar faces at ahzhong's
then a game of mahjong (hola hysterical laughter and random internet radio music)
my parents are in the next room (sleeping soundly)
and my alarm's set for 8am (class tomorrow.)

Sounds almost identical to any given day this past summer break!!

7/9/08: jewems at dinner

珠-溫-嘛-四 at 大上海

Our annual group excursion started at grand shanghai. One hour post reservation. (stephy, sorely missed )
And only after some major, kinda embarrassing but eventually extremely useful trend-leading action. It's like i'm speaking in code but really - no elaborations on our extreme ks-ness.

wyn on the phone/ sam chirpy as always
j concentrating on menu/ marns chatting to sam
dith eating from an empty spoon/ me pretending to use j's phone

Dinner was pretty fantastic.. But then my stomach started to ache halfway through the meal so that marked the end of the long beans and cloud shaped buns for me. The culprit? My 99¢ headband. YAH BRILLIANT VA. YOU'RE A REAL GENIUS.

JEWEMS:
doing the 'wyn as pictured in her driver's license' look
aka..... the perv look

wyn & dith gettin' jiggy to 1930's mandarin pop
mirror shot!

So my girlfriends are kind of the most fun people ever.
Or at least the most lunatic.

AIYO LOVE LA LOVE LA.

swingin'

Back in vegas and I've survived my first day of summer sesh 3. The dry heat and the strange abundance of acid rain is a little unsettling. Anyway, it's been pretty chaotic so far.. We went straight to the supermarket to stock up and then a hop skip and a jump to 1039 - where i was greeted by strawberry pie and screaming girls. A handful of backlogged posts to come.
___

This post is about one of those saturday nights.

I spent a good part of this night (kinda drunk, but yeeeaaa) playing police/mommy to my little gaggle of geese. I was glaring at them menacingly through throngs of people.. Sending them 'I AM WATCHING YOU' signals... Being extremely maternal. And by maternal I mean exceedingly creepy.

We hit up Barfly for drinks and loud 90's music then Shiraz for shisha and belly dancer ogling.

Barfly

We got suitably alkied out pretty early on into the night. Which probably explains the series of events that followed amidst my hawk-eyed trailing into the smoking room & subsequent venturing into a more.. whatchamacall.. rustic part of MOS.

We even saw my favorite "medieval whore"!! - I quote. Save for the mini 4am melodrama at spize I actually had a hell of a blast that night.
